About Smart India Hackathon

What is SIH?

Smart India Hackathon is a national-level platform that encourages students to design and build innovative solutions for complex problems shared by ministries, industries, and NGOs. This page is a CodingAvengers practice clone, not the official portal.

Innovation, Impact & Collaboration

The initiative promotes product innovation and problem-solving skills by bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world needs. Participants work in teams, refine their ideas, and develop deployable prototypes.

Each edition of SIH expands in reach and depth, enabling students to interact with domain experts, receive mentorship, and contribute to nation-building through technology-driven ideas.

How does SIH work?

A structured 6-step process ensures that problem statements are captured, ideas are nurtured, and the best teams reach the grand finale.

Problem Statements

Central & State Ministries, PSUs, Corporates, and NGOs submit problem statements on the portal. A review process finalizes challenges for the edition.

Institute Registration

Colleges register SPOCs, block problem statements, and conduct internal hackathons to identify top teams.

Idea Submission

Shortlisted campus teams submit detailed ideas and prototypes against chosen problem statements via the SIH portal.

Evaluation

Expert panels evaluate submissions based on innovation, impact, feasibility, and scalability to shortlist finalists.

Grand Finale

Finalist teams participate in a multi-day grand finale at nodal centers, working under mentors to refine and present their solutions.

Result & Follow-up

Winners are announced, and implementing agencies work with teams to further develop and deploy selected solutions.
